As If

Jul 22, 2026

As I sit across from the sun,
Its light dances in my face.
Almost as if to tease me, saying
“You see me less than that screen you hate.”

As I sit across from the water,
Its gentle stream serenades.
Almost as if to question
Why I need music as my escape.

As I sit on railroad tracks,
A kid runs along where I lay.
Almost as if his smile
Mocks the freedom I have today.
